Function:
Tetrachlorobenzoquinone, which is separated from acetic acid or acetone, is a golden yellow flake crystal, and that which is separated from benzene or toluene or sublimated is a monoclinic yellow columnar crystal. It has an unpleasant persistent smell. It has sublimation. It is soluble in sodium hydroxide solution and ether, slightly soluble in alcohol, insoluble in chloroform, carbon tetrachloride and carbon disulfide, almost insoluble in cold alcohol and insoluble in water. It can be used as a non absorbable bactericide, for seed sterilization of cereals, peanuts, vegetables, cotton and beans, as well as as dye intermediates, pesticide raw materials and leather industry.
Application:
It is mainly used as dye and pharmaceutical intermediates, intermediates of pesticides and macromolecular compounds, and also as seed dressing agent for crops.
