Function:
Colorless liquid with aromatic odor. Melting point -99.8°C, boiling point 32°C, flash point -32°C, specific gravity 0.98 (20°C). Soluble in ethanol, ether, methanol.
Application:
- Used as a solvent for cellulose acetate and nitrocellulose, as a raw material for DMF. Solvent for pesticide carbendazim insecticide.
- Used as a curing agent in phenolic resins. Fumigant for fruit and various types of tobacco.
- Used as pharmaceutical intermediates and fumigant fungicides. It is commonly used as a synthetic raw material for sulfomethylpyrimidine, sulfomethoxine, and antitussive methorphan.
