Function: Glycerol acetal (GF) is a light glycerol acetal consisting of approximately 60% 5-hydroxy-1,3-dioxane and approximately 40% 4-hydroxymethyl-1,3-dioxane. In the presence of an acidic catalyst, glycerol reacts with formaldehyde to form acetone. the potential of GF as an injectable solvent for toxicity testing has been reported.
