Methylmaltol has a caramel aroma and a strawberry aroma in dilute solution. Maltol is γ- Derivatives of pyranone are mainly used as food flavoring agents, daily necessities and tobacco flavorings, photosensitive materials, preservatives, and skincare drugs. Adding trace amounts of maltol to food not only improves and thickens the aroma, but also prolongs the shelf life of the food without mold. The essence used to make daily necessities can also play a good role in blending. Maltol is also an excellent substance for evenly coating photosensitive films to prevent spots and stripes. The skincare cosmetics formulated with it have good efficacy in inhibiting melanin growth and whitening the skin. Used for the production of various foods, such as chocolate, candy, canned goods, fruit wine, juice, ice cream, biscuits, bread, pastries, coffee, soda, and ice cream, with a general dosage of about one tenth of a thousand. It has a significant effect on improving and enhancing the aroma of food, and has a sweetening effect on desserts. One portion of maltol can be used instead of four portions of coumarin. Adding 5-200g of maltol to each ton of feed has the effect of promoting rapid growth of piglets.
