Function: 

m-Anisyl alcohol is colorless to light yellow liquid, general purpose pharmaceutical intermediates.

Application: 

This product is a diuretic. Carbonic anhydrase inhibitor, after serving to inhibit the carbonic anhydrase in the renal tubular epithelial cells, so that the formation of H2CO3 is reduced, and the production of H+ decreases. As a result, the exchange of H+ and Na+ is greatly slowed down, resulting in an increase in the discharge of HCO3-, Na+ and K+ and an increase in urine output. The product can also inhibit the atrial fluid secretion process, so that the intraocular pressure decreased. It is used in the treatment of glaucoma and mild cardiac edema.
