Function: 

Colorless transparent liquid with slight ammonia odor. Melting point 2.55°C, boiling point 210-212°C (partial decomposition at 180°C), flash point 154°C, specific gravity 1.1334 (20°C). It is hygroscopic, miscible with water and ethanol, slightly soluble in benzene, chloroform and ether.

Application: 

It is a raw material for synthetic medicines, spices, dyes, etc. It can also be used as a solvent for the spinning of synthetic fibers, plastic processing, and the production of lignocasein inks. It is also used as a treatment agent for paper, a coagulant in oil drilling and construction, a carburizing and nitriding agent in the foundry industry, a softener for animal glue, and a polar solvent for organic synthesis.
