Function
The appearance of fluorescein is orange or light orange crystalline powder. Melting point 314-316 ℃ (decomposition). It is soluble in hot ethanol, glacial acetic acid and alkali solution, showing green fluorescence, and insoluble in water, benzene, chloroform and ether. It is a synthetic organic photosensitive dye compound.
Product Usage
- Fluorescein is an intermediate of amalgam red, which can be used as a fluorometric reagent for the determination of chlorine, bromine, iodine and sulfur ions; Oxidation-reduction indicator reagent; Biological stain.
