Function:

Chitosan is a non-toxic, odorless off-white or light yellow powder, soluble in acid, insoluble in water, alkali, and organic solvents. Production and application in medicine, food, industry, etc.

Application:  

1. The density of high-density chitosan (≥ 0.6g/ml) is 2-3 times that of ordinary chitosan, and its oil absorption capacity is more than 3 times that of ordinary chitosan when the volume is the same. Generally, only one capsule is needed to be taken, which can instantly dissolve and absorb a large amount of oil, cholesterol and chloride ions under the condition of gastric acid in a short time. It can coagulate in the intestinal tract without being absorbed and directly discharged out of the body, achieving the functions of lowering blood pressure and lipid.
2. Application of chitosan in the pharmaceutical industry: It is stipulated in the National Pharmacopoeia (Volume IV) that chitosan is used as pharmaceutical excipients, disintegrants, thickeners, etc. A. The carrier material uses chitosan as a drug carrier to stabilize the ingredients in the drug, promote drug absorption, delay or control the dissolution rate of the drug, help the drug reach the target organ, and resist acid and ulcer, so as to prevent the drug from stimulating the stomach. B. Film forming material Chitosan can be used as film forming material of film agent to prepare oral film agent, traditional Chinese medicine film agent, etc. The size of its relative molecular weight has a prominent impact on the film-forming property and film properties. 3. Application of chitosan in the food industry: chitosan can be used as a binder, humectant, clarifier, filler, emulsifier, polish and thickening stabilizer in the food industry; As a functional oligosaccharide, it can reduce cholesterol and improve immunity. 4. Application of chitosan in light industry: taking advantage of the solubility and film-forming property of chitosan and the characteristics of mutual conversion of its chemical structure, acetic anhydride is used as the transformation fixative of chitosan chitin, so as to prepare a new chitin type fabric finishing agent that does not really contain formaldehyde, with good mechanical strength and chemical stability. Application in environmental protection: Chitosan can be used for the treatment of industrial wastewater and the extraction of heavy metals. Stable chelates can be formed by amino groups, hydroxyl groups and metal ions in the molecules, which can be widely used in the recovery of precious metals, industrial wastewater treatment, etc. Using chitosan to prepare high viscosity soluble chitosan, the product has high viscosity, good quality, non-toxic, biodegradable, and will not cause secondary pollution.

Storage:
