Function:
Butyl lactate, molecular formula C7H14O3, molecular weight 146.21. Combustible in case of open fire and high heat. It can react with oxidant. Its vapor is heavier than air and can spread to a relatively far place at a lower place. It will ignite and recoil when encountering an ignition source. In case of high heat, the internal pressure of the container will increase, which may cause cracking and explosion. It is used as a solvent for the production of amino and nitro coatings, as well as in spices, synthetic resins, adhesives, etc.
Application:
- It is used as solvent for nitrocellulose paint, printing ink, natural and synthetic resin, etc. It is also used for dry cleaning liquid, adhesive, anti skinning agent and spices. It is a high boiling solvent used for natural resin, synthetic resin, paint and printing ink.
- Cosmetic solvent. It is mainly used as the main solvent of nail polish and other cosmetics. It has excellent solubility to nitrocellulose and other skin film forming agents, and usually requires adding cosolvent to adjust viscosity and volatilization rate.
Storage:
Store in a cool, dry and well ventilated area, away from incompatible substances.
