Function:
Bromophenol Blue is a light red crystal or light yellow to light brown powder. The melting point is 279°C (decomposition). Soluble in alcohol, dilute lye and ammonia solution, it turns blue, slightly soluble in water and ether solution with yellow color, its sodium salt dissolves in water and turns blue.
Application:
Acid-base indicator, pH3.0 (yellow)-4.6 (purple). Non-aqueous solution titration indicator, protein electrophoresis staining, virus assay, etc.
