Function: 

 Colorless cubic crystal or white crystalline powder. Odorless and salty. Relative density 2.514 (25/4 ℃). Soluble in water, easily soluble in ethanol, acetone, ammonia, slightly soluble in ether. It has deliquescence and photosensitivity, and when exposed to light and air, it can precipitate free iodine and turn yellow or even brown. 55l ℃ sublimation. The aqueous solution of ammonium iodide is easily oxidized and decomposed, and at the same time, the iodine is precipitated and turns yellow.

Application:  

1. Used as analytical reagent, also used in the synthesis of iodide
2. Manufacture of iodide, which can be used as a photosensitive emulsion for photographic film and backplane.
3. In medical applications, it is an important raw material for expectorants and diuretics.
