ONPG is a colorimetric and spectrophotometric substrate for the detection of β-galactosidase activity.

Application: 

Used for the detection of β-galactosidase (β-galactosidase) activity, it is the chromogenic substrate of β-galactosidase. Catalyzed by β-galactosidase, it can produce yellow product and absorbance can be detected at 410-420nm.
