Function:
1,6-Hexanediol(HDO) is a common binary alcohol in a white solid form, ethyl acetate, and water, but insoluble in toluene. It is often used in polyester polyols, polyurethane epoxy resins, UV curable monomers, pharmaceutical intermediates, cosmetics, and other fields
Application:
(1) Polyurethane field: HDO is used in the production of polyester resins to modify polyurethane elastomers. Polyurethane elastomers are used in synthetic rubber, elastic fibers, synthetic leather and other fields. The modified resin has excellent mechanical strength, water resistance, heat resistance and oxidation resistance. At the same time, HDO can also be used to produce polycarbonate diols.
(2) Polyester field: In terms of unsaturated polyester, compared with unsaturated polyester with other short-chain alcohols, the carbon chain of HDO unsaturated polyester is more difficult to hydrolyze, and has better flexibility, which can improve the alkali resistance of the resin. Improve its adhesion to glass fibers. In terms of saturated polyester, the polyester produced by HDO has high tensile strength, high elasticity, excellent solvent resistance and swelling resistance, and is especially suitable for photographic film bases and other products. At the same time, the product is also suitable for the treatment of polyester fibers.
(3) Coating field: It mainly reacts with acrylic acid to produce a difunctional reactive diluent——HDDA. Production fields such as curing coatings, inks and adhesives.
In addition, this product is also used in the production of pharmaceutical intermediates, synthetic resin additives and other fields.
Storage:
Sealed and stored in a cool and dark place.
