Function:
Redox function: During the color development process, CD-4 can undergo redox reaction with the exposed silver halide on the color film. The silver halide is reduced to silver, while CD-4 itself is oxidized, and its oxidation product will react with the color coupler to generate dyes, which convert the latent image on the film into a visible color image.
Color generation function: By combining with different color couplers, CD-4 can generate three basic colors: cyan, magenta, and yellow, which are then mixed to form a variety of rich colors, and finally form a complete color image on the film.
Application:
Photography: It is an indispensable chemical reagent in color photography and is widely used in the development process of color film and photographic paper.
