Function:

1. Sodium formaldehyde hyposulfate dihydrate is a strong reducing agent.
2. Provide formaldehyde function.
3. In organic synthesis, sodium formaldehyde hyposulfate dihydrate can be used as a dehydrating agent.

Application:

1. As a whitening agent, it is used in some printing and dyeing fabrics that need to locally remove color. At the same time, it is also an excellent reducing agent, so that dyes better penetrate into the fabric fibers.
2. It can be used to synthesize various organic compounds, such as reducing aldehydes or ketones to alcohols. In drug synthesis and fine chemical synthesis, as a key reducing agent involved in the reaction.
3. Used for clarification and purification of sugar liquid. So as to achieve the purpose of clarifying the sugar liquid, improve the quality and purity of sugar.
4. It plays a role in the polymerization of ethylene compounds.
5. Used as a reducing agent in photographic development process.
