Function:
Propylene glycol has strong hygroscopicity and can absorb moisture from the surrounding environment and retain the moisture on the skin surface, keeping the skin moisturized, preventing skin dryness and moisture loss, and making the skin soft and smooth.
As an excellent solvent, propylene glycol can dissolve a variety of organic and inorganic substances.
Propylene glycol has certain lubricity and can be used as a lubricant to reduce friction and wear between surfaces.
Application:
Humectant: used to keep the moisture in food, prevent it from drying out and hardening, and extend the shelf life of food.
Liquid detergent: Added to liquid detergent, it can act as a solvent and co-solvent to help dissolve ingredients such as surfactants and improve the cleaning effect and stability of the detergent.
Polyurethane production: As a raw material, it reacts with isocyanate to produce polyurethane. Polyurethane has excellent properties such as wear resistance, elasticity, and corrosion resistance. It is widely used in the manufacture of foam plastics, elastomers, coatings, adhesives, etc.
