Function:
Ethylene glycol diglycidyl ether is a bifunctional epoxy compound, which mainly functions as a cross-linking agent.
It also has a certain dilution effect. In some epoxy resin systems, ethylene glycol diglycidyl ether can reduce the viscosity of epoxy resin and improve its fluidity and operability.
Due to the high chemical reactivity of its epoxy group, it is able to react with a wide range of different chemicals, allowing for chemical modification of materials.
Application:
Fiber-reinforced composites: In the manufacture of fiber-reinforced composites (such as glass fiber reinforced plastics, carbon fiber reinforced plastics, etc.), ethylene glycol diglycidyl ether is used as a cross-linking agent in epoxy resin matrix.
High-performance coatings: used to prepare high-performance coatings, especially epoxy coatings. It can improve the hardness, wear resistance and chemical corrosion resistance of coatings. In anti-corrosion coatings, it is combined with epoxy resin to form a dense coating that can effectively prevent metal surfaces from being corroded. It is used to protect petrochemical pipelines, marine facilities, etc.
Concrete additives: As concrete additives, it can react with the ingredients in concrete to improve the strength and durability of concrete.
