Function:
The compound will undergo hydrolysis in aqueous solution to produce substances such as chromium hydroxide (III). The chromium hydroxide (III) produced by hydrolysis has colloidal properties and can absorb some impurity ions or molecules. It can be used in wastewater treatment and other fields to purify water quality.
Application:
Used as a mordant for printed and dyed fabrics. Mordants can enhance the bonding between dyes and fabrics, and improve the fastness and uniformity of dyeing. During the dyeing process, chromium nitrate (III) nonahydrate first reacts chemically with fabric fibers to form a complex, which then combines with the dye, thereby making the dye adhere better to the fabric, improving the dyeing quality, and making the dyed fabric bright, lasting, and not easy to fade.
