Function:
Plasticizing function: Butyl glycolate can be inserted between the molecular chains of polymers, weaken the forces between the molecular chains of polymers, increase the flexibility and mobility of the molecular chains, and thus make the material more plastic and flexible, playing a role of plasticizing.
Solvent function: It has a certain solubility and can dissolve many organic compounds. It can be used as a solvent to help dissolve some insoluble substances, so that they can be evenly dispersed in the system, promote chemical reactions or form a uniform mixture.
Application:
As a plasticizer: commonly used in the production of plastics such as polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and polystyrene, it can improve the processing performance of plastics, reduce their melting temperature and viscosity, and make them easier to mold.
As a moisturizer and solvent: it has certain moisturizing properties, can form a protective film on the skin surface, reduce water loss, maintain the moisture content of the skin, and keep the skin moist and soft.
As a solvent: it is a common solvent in coatings and inks, which can dissolve resins, pigments and other ingredients, so that coatings and inks have good fluidity and coating properties, and help form a uniform coating or printing pattern.
